John Shores, 54, and a former scout leader for Boy Scouts Mid-America Council was arrested by U.S. Marshals last week on federal charges.

John Shores is charged with attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and attempted enticement of a minor.

John Shores was listed as Commissioner of the Board of Directors for Boy Scouts Mid-America Council in annual reports from 2020-2022.

John Shoes became an Eagle Scout May 25, 1984 and has been in scouting for over 35 years serving numerous roles, from den leader, to scoutmaster, to commissioner of the board of directors of the Boy Scouts Mid-America Council
