John Shores, 54, and a former scout leader for Boy Scouts Mid-America Council was arrested by U.S. Marshals last week on federal charges.

John Shores is charged with attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and attempted enticement of a minor.

A probable cause and detention hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 16. He's currently being held in the Douglas County Jail without bond.

John Shores was listed as Commissioner of the Board of Directors for Boy Scouts Mid-America Council in annual reports from 2020-2022.

John Shoes became an Eagle Scout May 25, 1984 and has been in scouting for over 35 years serving numerous roles, from den leader to scoutmaster.
