Louis Hanemann Obituary
HANEMANN Louis Lucian Hanemann died Monday, May 21, 2007 at his home in Raleigh, NC. He was born in New Orleans, LA, son of the late Louis and Betty Hanemann. He is survived by: his sister, Betty Miles and husband, Oliver; his eldest son, Louis and wife, Natalie; his middle son, Benjamin and wife, Charlotte; youngest son, Craig and wife, Caroline; and his grandchildren: Tyler, Dylan, Merritt and Baby Hanemann due in August. He is also survived by a large extended family. Louis was a principal of Father Turlings High School in Lafayette, Louisiana, a teacher, youth leader, and mentor. He was Vice President of Human Resources for North Carolina Natural Gas Corporation. He was ordained as a Deacon for the Catholic Church and member of the Third Order of Carmalites. He also served on the Committee for Smart Start Program, member of the Rotary International Association, Board Member of the NC Child Advocacy Institute, member of NC Business Committee for Education, Knights of Columbus, Cumberland County HIV Task Force, Cumberland County Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services, and held numerous positions with the Boy Scouts of America. In addition, Louis served as a volunteer of the Peace Corps in Odessa, Ukraine. Louis was an avid reader, eloquent speaker, and had a tremendous devotion to family. He researched, organized, and transcribed the Hanemann genealogical history from the 1600s. He is also a published author of several books. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at St. George's Anglican Church at 1210 Dixie Trail in Raleigh, NC. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the charity of your choice.
