Sean John Combs (born 1969), also known as Diddy, is an American rapper, record producer, and entrepreneur. He is the founder of Bad Boy Records and the clothing line Sean John. In 2025, Combs was convicted of transportation for prostitution and is currently incarcerated awaiting sentencing.
In July 2025, following a federal trial, Combs was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges. He is currently detained without bail and is awaiting sentencing, scheduled for October 2025. These events followed a series of civil lawsuits alleging sexual and physical abuse, beginning in late 2023 with a suit filed by his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. A security video showing Combs assaulting Ventura in 2016 further exacerbated public reaction. The allegations and his conviction have resulted in significant damage to his reputation and business ventures. Howard University rescinded his honorary degree, Macy's stopped carrying his Sean John clothing line, and Miami Beach revoked a "Diddy Day" proclamation. Diageo ended its partnership regarding Cîroc, and Combs resigned as chairman of Revolt. He continues to face numerous civil lawsuits.
