Former La Junta employee accused of molesting 11-year-old boy
Matthew S. Bovee was indicted for two charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child sexual contact, alleged to have happened during a camp session to a camper.
On May 10, 2011, Matthew Bovee admitted to sexually assaulting a child and pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of Injury of a Child with Intent to Harm. In a deal with prosecutors, he was sentenced to 10 years of probation. He was arrested just three months later for violating several terms of that probation. Bovee was then sentenced to nine years in prison.
Prior to leaving Lincoln in 2008, twenty-two year old Matthew Bovee was employed as a youth fitness trainer and lifeguard. Due to his frequent contact with children, there is a possibility that there are victims in the Lincoln area.
