On Wednesday (July 23) at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Costin was jailed for the third time in 30 years after a five year investigation by the Metropolitan Police spanning London, Essex, Suffolk and Northern Ireland, which gathered evidence from 14 victims abused by Costin while he led scout troops in Rush Green, Romford, and later in Kirton, Suffolk, through the 1980s and 1990s.

The latest set of convictions, for 22 counts of indecent assault, after a trial in February this year, brings Costin's total number of victims to 19. MyLondon understands police believe there may still be more that have not spoken out, and that publicity about the case in Northern Ireland and Suffolk has the potential to bring more forward.
