'Knocking down the torture chamber'
Date: March 30th, 2017

Excerpt

Wednesday, a tangible reminder of a dark period in Foxboro's history will be demolished.

In the 1960's, 1970's and early 1980's Bill Sheehan was a trusted Foxboro Public Schools teacher, scoutmaster and the swimming director at Cocasset River Park. He has also been accused of having molested dozens of Foxboro children during this time period, some of whom he allegedly raped.

Now, the abandoned building that housed bathrooms and Sheehan's office at Cocasset River Park is set to be destroyed, a step that a number of survivors have long desired to see.

The Rev. Bill Dudley, who was attacked by Sheehan as a child and who now serves on the Foxboro Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Committee, characterized the impending demolition as "Knocking down the torture chamber."
